Purpose
These terms govern the use of Kilomeet, a service that helps running clubs, crews and shops organise group runs: run announcements, pace groups, sign-ups, roll call, calendar and directory. The service is published by Robin Clerc, a private individual not registered as a business (see the legal notice).
Kilomeet provides a tool: it does not organise runs. Each run is organised by the club or the person who announces it; everyone takes part at their own risk and under the organiser’s rules.
A run announced by a member (“Léa runs tonight”) is suggested by that member alone: neither Kilomeet nor the club or crew it is posted in organises it, and a club’s insurance does not cover it. Only the members of the chosen crews and clubs see it, it disappears 3 hours after the start, and a club’s admin may hide it in their club, giving its author a reason.
Access to the service
The service is for people aged 18 and over. Registering a minor is forbidden.
Your account is personal. You sign in with a one-time code sent by email; keep control of your mailbox.
Kilomeet is free for everyone: runners, clubs, crews and shops. There is no paid plan.
Personal data: who is responsible
For accounts, security and the directory, Kilomeet is the controller (see the privacy policy). For the data of a club’s members and participants, the club is the controller and Kilomeet its processor, under the data processing agreement, which is part of these terms for club admins.
In particular, the club undertakes to: register adults only; enter no health data; use its runners’ data for the club’s organisation only; answer its members’ requests, or let us do so with the tools provided.
Content published by clubs
The club keeps ownership of its content (name, logo, descriptions, runs) and warrants that it may publish it. It grants Kilomeet, free of charge and for as long as the content is published, the right to host, reproduce and display it on the service, in the directory, in calendar invitations and in share images.
Content must be accurate and lawful: no discriminatory, hateful or harassing statements, no third-party personal data beyond what the service asks for, no health data, no photo of a person.
Messages to a run’s participants are about that run only. They are not used to advertise to people who have not agreed to it.
A co-hosted run requires both clubs’ agreement: the host club remains the controller of the sign-ups, the co-host only sees totals.
Reporting illegal content
Anyone can report content they believe is illegal by writing to bonjour@kilomeet.com. The report gives the exact address of the content, why it is considered illegal, your name and email address (except for certain serious offences) and a statement of good faith.
We acknowledge receipt, examine the report diligently and objectively, then tell you our decision. The person whose content is removed or restricted receives a statement of reasons and can contest the decision by replying to that message.
Single point of contact for authorities and users (EU Digital Services Act): bonjour@kilomeet.com, in French or English.
Moderation, suspension and termination
If these terms or the law are breached, we may remove content, limit a feature or suspend an account, proportionately and stating our reasons, unless the law forbids it.
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. A deleted club can first export its data; it is then erased within 30 days.
Liability
For content published by clubs, Kilomeet acts as a hosting provider: it can only be held liable if it knew of manifestly illegal content and did not remove it promptly. Kilomeet strives to keep the service available, without being able to guarantee it at all times. Kilomeet is liable for its own failures under ordinary law.
Database and intellectual property
The directory and the ranking pages form a database produced by the publisher, protected by the French Intellectual Property Code (art. L341-1 et seq.). Extracting or reusing all or a substantial part of it, including by automated scraping, is forbidden without written permission. The Kilomeet brand, logo and software are protected.
Changes to these terms
Any change is announced by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account before that date.
Transfer of the agreement
The publisher may transfer these terms and the related agreements to a company it controls, together with its professional estate (French Commercial Code, art. L526-27). You will be told by email beforehand.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, first write to bonjour@kilomeet.com to seek an amicable solution. Failing that, the competent French courts have jurisdiction.
The French version of these terms is binding; the English version is a translation provided for information.
